Watch out Monopoly there’s a new sheriff in town.
The 5-Second Rule board game is gaining a lot traction these days. The game has been showcased on the Ellen show several times, and it’s one of the top sellers on Amazon.com.
The Game is Simple.
The game is played like this.
You set the timer and pick up a card.
You have to follow the instructions on the card before the five-second timer ends.
Let me explain further. You pick up a card and read it. The card may say to list three animals. You would have five seconds to name three animals. If you’re successful listing the three animals within the five seconds than you would get a point, it’s that simple.
I decided to go out and check out the game to and see if it’s a laugh, our a waste of money. When I say a waste of money, I’m talking about the games that you put in your closet never to be heard from again.
What Makes it So Popular
There are two significant reasons why this game is so popular. The first reason is that it’s easy.
Anyone can play this game. Whether you’re an 80 years old grandma or an 18-year-old teenager – this board game will make you smile.
The simplicity of the game is what makes it so appealing. There is nothing to set up – within minutes you are ready to play.
Also, if someone needs to leave the game – no problem. People can come and go throughout the game without messing it up.
I took some time and played the game with my family and enjoyed it.
We have a family with several different age groups. My oldest son (11 and middle son (9) was having a blast. My daughter (5) loved the game as well. We all had a great laugh and will no doubt play it again real soon.
I would say that all of the hype concerning this game is justified. It’s a great game for parties, family gathering and just getting together for a game night. I would get out there and pick one up. I would assume that when Christmas time comes, they will be harder to find.
